NEW YORK

Picture

A metropolis of millions that doesn't seem to sleep and whose skyline is unmistakable. This is New York, the first place we visit as new residents of America. Even if our time is actually only enough for a quick "work through" of the most important sights (and the time difference does the rest), the impressions collected are all the more intense.

Whether it was an advantage that we felt unbelievable hunger for breakfast and thirst for coffee in the middle of the night (around 3:00 a.m. local time) is certainly a matter of opinion. In any case, the day started very early and the hustle and bustle was still limited. The subway from New Jersay to Manhattan was still clearly full at this time and we could start exploring the city in peace.

The city on the Hudson River with its many impressive buildings such as the Empire State Building, the Flatiron Building or the Chrysler Building is definitely unique. The underground stadium at the WTC is an absolute architectural feast for the eyes. But you can only benefit if you are out really early..

In Times Square, which is located in the theater district on Broadway, you have to fight your way through the crowds and the numerous small artists are a bit exhausting in the long run. But it's nice and colorful there ...
