Prague - the golden city
Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and world-famous as a royal and imperial residence in the Holy Roman Empire. It has a variety of buildings and squares worth seeing and the Danube beach has been sung in many songs. I spent the Easter holidays 2018 with my parents here and could enjoy the sights and especially the delicious food here. Prague is nicknamed the “Golden City”. The name is based on the numerous towers that shimmer golden in sunlight. A particularly beautiful place is the Charles Bridge with its many statues. Here painters and musicians gather to entertain the visitors. The Prague Castle on the Hradschin is also interesting. Prague has the oldest university in Central Europe, the Charles University in Prague. It was founded in 1348. The Petøín lookout tower was opened on August 20, 1891 as a scaled-down replica of the Paris Eiffel Tower. Here you have a wonderful view of the city and the surrounding area. |
